Event: Returning results to young participants

Last Thursday, January 31, CNSC members Andrea Rosales and Mireia Fernández-Ardèvol provided a special lecture/presentation to high school students of Institut La Romànica from Barberà del Vallès (Barcelona Metropolitan Area). The session, hosted at the facilities of the IN3-Open University of Catalonia in Castelldefels, was designed to return results to the youngest participants in the research project “Ageism and social media through the lens of the media ideologies: An exploratory research“. Students from this high school participated in two focus groups to discuss their use practices of social media and how and to what extent it is related to beliefs about how other generations make use of them. The same discussions were spurred in other focus groups with older participants to compare generational similarities and differences.

Andrea and Mireia also provided guidance on how to conduct a research project, the goal being to aid students in conducting their own research projects to graduate from high school. To learn more about the project, have a look at the links section below.
