The Decentralised Citizens ENgagement Technologies project is a Europe-wide project bringing together citizen-led organisations that have transformed democracy in the past years, and helping them in developing the next generation of open source, distributed, and privacy-aware tools for direct democracy and economic empowerment.

It intends to host all the participatory processes for the next 3 years using the same user base. It currently started with the Municipal Action Plan (PAM), a strategic planning tool to determine the main actions for the city during this mandate.

There is unequivocal evidence concerning the negative consequences associated with ageism at the individual, familial, and societal levels. The long term goal of this Action is to challenge the practice of ageism and allow older people to realize their full potential. With the rise of global revolts back in 2011, this project aims to conduct an in depth analysis of two networked social movements: 15M in Spain and Occupy Wall Street in the US. This research project is funded by the Balzan Prize for Sociology awarded to Manuel Castells in 2013.
