From the CNSC group we want to share with you that it has been opened a call for tenders for the development of the Decidim platform. The tender meets the needs of improvement of the platform in which we are collaborating with the Decidim Team, in the City Council of Barcelona.
Decidim is a digital common’s infrastructure for participatory democracy led by the Barcelona City Council (already implemented in other Catalan cities and in phase of difusion to other countries). It hosts participatory processes, government strategic planning, citizen initiatives and other (self)governance services. Decidim is a free/open software project, a prototype for public funded, sovereign and participatory digital infrastructures, so it has been developed with contributors and collaborators all around the world.
The main objective of this tender is to help the project grow and to reach the greatest possible number of companies, cooperatives and professionals, in order to engage the best talents in free software to develop the future functionalities of the platform, which have been suggested by the community throughout the life of Decidim. We hope that these improvements will also help substantially to facilitate the understanding and access to the citizen participation processes.

- Improvements to proposals
- Improvements to components of face-to-face meetings
- Search engine
- Improvements to organs (Assemblies)
- Space of collaboration
- Configurator and generator of events pages
- Data viewer
- Participatory texts
- Management of authentication of digital identity
- User-cantered web experience
- Civic engagement plan on the platform
- General improvements to web design and UX
- Integration of usability experiments
- Activity log of administrators, moderators and verifiers.
An information session, opened to all companies interested in participating in this tender, will be held on 14th July 2017, from 11:00 to 12:30 at the Tibidabo room on the 10th floor of IMI (Institut Municipal d’Informàtica), c / Tànger, 98, Barcelona.
